Virus Emails are rampant during
this holiday season, some examples to
delete; great internet security
websites; check out programs on a
trial basis first, for instance,
firewalls; free software that closes all
running programs; what is safe to
download on your new computer?
All email from Rocky Hamilton is
scanned by the "always up-to-date
and subscription current" EZ Trust Antivirus program. Certified
Virus Free!
As always, * Please be assured that I will never sell or share
your email addresses with anyone else! I respect your privacy!*
Happy Thanksgiving!
<Virus
Emails are Rampant right now!>
I was going to wait until after
the holidays to send this, but it just can't wait. I wanted to
alert you all to the flurry of virus emails that are coming your way
to "ring in" the holidays. As always, the "killjoys" are out in
full force just waiting to sabotage your good times. There are a
plethora of virus emails coming to you, including worms (worm.sober.u and
others) and phishing emails. Be sure you keep your Anti-Virus
software up to date and current and you'll be okay. And then there
are the emails to be aware of that you should just delete, with or
without an attachment, that have anything to do with fbi.gov,
or cia.gov, or Paris Hilton and
more. My mom called me yesterday, with the alarming news from the CIA.gov
that refers to this message:
Dear Sir/Madam,
we have logged your IP-address on more than 30 illegal Websites.
Important: Please answer our questions! The list of questions
are attached.
Yours faithfully,
Steven Allison
(Who the heck is
Steven Allison? Don't know, but his name shows up
a lot on these
emails.)
I also received one from the FBI
:D, so don't be fooled or alarmed by
these "nuisance" emails, and
DON'T REPLY TO THEM and DON'T OPEN
THE ATTACHMENT. You will also
notice that the email isn't exactly
addressed to you at all. It has
some bogus email address that doesn't
really relate to you! So don't
be fooled. They threw Paris Hilton
in for "who knows why". I guess
the curiosity factor of the blonde
heiress and her friend Nicole
Richie, or that's right, they aren't friends
anymore. I can't stress it
enough Anti-Virus software and Anti-spy software is really important
at all times, but especially during the holidays! I like EZ
Trust Antivirus and for spyware, Ad-aware and Yahoo Anti-spy.

I urge you to try out any software
product these days before you buy it. I have wasted more money on
products that didn't work for me, were incompatible with my operating
system, didn't do the job I needed, etc. Let me save you
time and money and recommend that you ALWAYS go look at
www.download.com
and try before you buy. This is a great website to find just the right
software for what ever you are looking for, and try it before you spend
any money. That's better! Just type in the subject of the program you
are interested in click search.

<Closes all
running programs. Free!>
Recently, a visitor to my newly
remodeled website,
www.internetguideandmore.com
emailed me with the question on closing all running programs.
In the past you have had to do this one by one with ctrl-alt-delete
and the task manager pops up. Quite a time consuming project, but
this is a great way to install a program with no interference from
programs on your computer running in the background. The other
problem with this method is that invariably you can close the wrong
program, and then your computer turns off. This program available
free for download will take the guesswork out of it work you.
<Safe
downloads from Dell, Java and Flash or Shockwave?>
Many of my clients have been buying
new computers lately, and the
question that keeps coming up, especially with Dell computers that
are very diligent about updating your computer, "What is okay to
download?" The answer is windows updates, Dell updates (or HP,
Compaq, etc), Java updates, Flash and/or Shockwave updates are all
Okay to download and necessary for your computer/internet experience
to go well.
Well, I do hope you all have a
